Distribution of Fruit-Bearing Plants to Rural Farmers in Khajuraho
Tue Sep 22 2026
Kabir Foundation, Khajuraho, undertook an initiative to support rural farmers by distributing fruit-bearing plants to families in the surrounding rural areas of Khajuraho. The initiative was carried out with the valuable support of The Hans Foundation as part of efforts to promote sustainable livelihoods and environmental conservation.
The distribution of fruit plants aims to encourage farmers and rural families to integrate tree cultivation into their household and agricultural spaces. In the coming years, these plants can provide nutritious fruits for family consumption while also creating the potential for an additional source of income.
Along with distribution, the initiative encourages beneficiaries to take responsibility for the care and protection of the plants through regular watering, proper maintenance, and long-term nurturing. Fruit trees can also contribute to increasing green cover, supporting local biodiversity, and improving the overall environmental health of rural communities.
Kabir Foundation believes that meaningful environmental initiatives are most effective when local communities actively participate in them. By placing fruit-bearing plants in the hands of rural families, the programme seeks to create a lasting connection between livelihood development and environmental sustainability.
The Foundation, with the continued support of its partners and community members, remains committed to promoting greener, healthier, and more sustainable rural communities around Khajuraho.
